A private space for us to converse and connect
Today I’m announcing a brand new addition to my Substack publication: James Winter subscriber chat.
This is a conversation space exclusively for subscribers—kind of like a group chat or live hangout. I’ll post questions and updates that come my way, and you can jump into the discussion.
How to get started
Get the Substack app by clicking this link or the button below. New chat threads won’t be sent sent via email, so turn on push notifications so you don’t miss conversation as it happens. You can also access chat on the web.
Open the app and tap the Chat icon. It looks like two bubbles in the bottom bar, and you’ll see a row for my chat inside.
That’s it! Jump into my thread to say hi, and if you have any issues, check out Substack’s FAQ.

Dear Friends,
I've been sitting here struggling for the perfect expression, and honestly, a simple "thank you" doesn't capture the depth of my gratitude.
When I began writing on Substack, it wasn’t with expectations of numbers or growth. It was simply an act of showing up. Of putting words on a page and hoping they might matter to someone. Hoping they might reach one person who needed them.
Seeing so many of you subscribe and care is more than encouraging. It’s truly humbling. It assures me that the tales, the contemplations, and the vulnerabilities of sincerity are finding a meaningful connection. That they’re being read not just with eyes, but with hearts.
Writing is too often a solitary act. It happens in quiet rooms, in early mornings or late nights, in the spaces we squeeze in between responsibilities. But because of you, it no longer feels solitary. It feels shared. It feels alive.
Each subscription is more than a number. It is a quiet nod across a crowded world. To me, it is someone out there saying, “Yes. I see this. I’m listening.” In a time where attention is scattered and fleeting, your decision to linger here means more than I can fully express.
Your very presence here gives these words weight. It gives my work a purpose. And it gives me the courage to keep going deeper, to keep telling the truth as best as I can.
Thank you for your time. Thank you for your trust. Thank you for believing that what I’m building here is worth being part of.
I don’t take that lightly.
Thank you for walking into this space.
Thank you for trusting me with your time.
With sincere gratitude,
James Winter
